Santosha in Summer

Social Media would lead you to believe that once you become a yoga teacher your business BOOMS!

Your classes are packed, you are a full-time instructor and you have thousands and thousands of Instagram followers. Well, after teaching for 4 years now I know that is not the case! Being a Yoga instructor is a grind. It comes with lots of outreach, planning, prepping, and staying organized.

The life of a yoga teacher involves Ebbs and Flows, sometimes your schedule is packed and other times it is light, and well light has been my first time as a full-time yoga instructor!

As I have had time to reflect here are a few lessons to take with me as I go back into the season of busyness and maybe they will help you as well!

  • Save for the slow times (prepare ahead, in the season of busy.. SAVE SAVE SAVE)

  • Find gratitude and peace in the slow times (Santosha). As I had more time to slow down, be present with my girls, even in times when I didn’t have a lot of money I just kept telling myself, enjoy this time. Because I knew it wouldn’t last

  • Don’t get discouraged! It’s so easy to start to compare yourself to the Instagram teachers and those who look so “successful” but it is so important to remember that social media is just a highlight. We don’t know the full story and they don’t know yours, keep going.

Don’t let the gram fool you in this business as a teacher or a student!

KEEP GOING
